Live watersports L4 Expedition SUP

Main Post:

If anyone has any experience with these cat style paddle boards, I'm interested in purchasing one but have a couple of questions.

The L4 is 14' long and weighs 65lbs. Seems a big large but it's really stable and I'm using it for fly fishing for red fish in the southeast USA, Charleston sc, so I think stability is a good thing.

Is it difficult to carry from the truck to the water with only one person?
Are these boards worth the money as they seem a bit more than a standard fishing paddle board.

If you have any input, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks!

Top Comment: I've never owned one, but I can give you input on some of the questions. I switched to SUP from Kayaks because Kayaks are a bitch to carry. 65lbs is kind of cumbersome for me and I'm an average sized adult male. If you work out a lot, you should be able to carry it fine. If not, I would consider their slightly smaller model just out of convenience. Double hull = stability for days. Shouldn't be a lot of difference between the 12' and the 14'. The main difference is that the 12' is a whole lot lighter and a few hundred cheaper. I was debating buying one of these things for a while, I was going to go for the 12'. I own a single hull SUP and it's pretty stable. Anything with two hulls would be a definite game changer. To sum it up, yes 65lbs will be a pain to carry. The solution is to buy the smaller one by the same company. The stability will be roughly the same, and you can carry it to your car without wanting to shoot yourself.

Sup apps

Main Post:

Just saw a post where someone was using an app to track where they went on their outing. Was just wondering if anyone else uses any apps to track themselves or to find locations or anything like that

Top Comment: I use Strava to track my paddles, and just found out about the GoPaddling App from paddling.com the other day. It's got a nice user-created database of paddling locations.
